Morwell Battery

Morwell Battery is a proposed 620 MW 4-hour Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to be located on private land in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley.

ACE Power has commenced grid connection studies to integrate the project into the National Electricity Market. This process is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete.

The project is being developed as part of ACE Power’s commitment to help Australia transition to a clean energy future.

Location

The project will be located in the Latrobe Valley, and will be connected into the 500 kV Hazelwood Terminal Station near Morwell, in south-eastern Victoria.

Community Information

ACE Power is progressing with the design works and technical studies required to support the development approval application, which is expected to be lodged in mid 2025.

In due course, the project team will commence consultation activities with the local community to collect feedback which will help shape the development of the proposed project.
